1. Change the lamp

In a neutral interior, as a rule, the ceiling lamp is selected the same. But concise does not mean faceless. Change the ceiling lamp to a large, expressive one with colorful, bright and fashionable details (such as, for example, the scarlet color of the ceiling lamp and the metal mesh that is currently relevant). 3. Replace the sofa cover

The replacement of the cover promises a magical transformation of the living room. If, for example, the first cover was sewn with the idea of neutrality and unobtrusive details of the space, then the second, bright, can turn the sofa into a center of attraction. It’s very convenient: several different covers to suit the mood and a small collection of accessories to match everyone. You won’t get bored!

4. Hang curtains with a fashionable pattern

You can change the curtains or make additional curtains — Roman or roll-up. It’s amazing, but thanks to such a simple technique, your interior will immediately become one hundred percent modern.

5. Lay a carpet

It can be a completely simple, inexpensive and concise carpet. The main requirement is the expressiveness of the ornament, color, general outline (now there are carpets of irregular shape, not just round, oval and rectangular). Monochrome carpets look great (as in the photo below). The carpet «collects» pieces of furniture into a «stable» composition, helps to zone the space, makes it cozy and elegant.

Imagine this dining room without a carpet: the interior would seem flat, would go from sophistication to inexpressiveness.

6. Create a «vignette»

Designers call small harmonious compositions like this: for example, a console, a mirror, a vase, a table lamp. Vignettes perfectly cope with the task of filling an empty part of the wall. Our advice: take a look, maybe you have some interesting things that you can use. For example, in the example below, a silk handkerchief from the hostess’s collection is used as a picture, and it looks very attractive.

7. Balance the number of items

The golden mean rule also applies to the interior. Spaces that are too empty and crowded with decor look bad. Below is an example of a successful balance.

8. Repaint

Modern paints are so good, and the collections are so matched in shades that it is very difficult to spoil the walls with them. And vice versa, you can experiment with them: «divide» the wall, «draw» geometric shapes on it, combine paint with wallpaper, and so on.

9. Apply the contrast technique

For example, we combine modern, modernist furniture with antique. (In addition, smooth textures can be combined with rough ones, and «cool» feel — with «warm» ones).

10. Create a mobile «exposure»

Recipe: screen + console on wheels + interior accessories to taste.

A screen with an active black and white stripe can get boring, so you can choose a more restrained, soft decor for the other side. And change according to the mood.
