Designer Rustem Urazmetov from UR Bureau completely rethought the outdated space of the apartment and created a minimalist interior with bright accents.

The apartment is located in the Moscow residential complex Primavera. Having lived in it for twenty years, the owners — a married couple — decided to completely change the situation, refresh and update the interior. To rethink the space from the point of view of today, the customers invited designer Rustem, who masterfully coped with the task.

Despite the fact that the interior is morally outdated in terms of style, the owners got used to the layout and at first did not want to change anything. However, the author of the project convinced them of the need for redevelopment — the space had ergonomic disadvantages that should be eliminated.

Hallway area. It is separated from the living room by a glass partition with a blue metal profile and tinted glass, made to order by the Russian company Nayada.

Living room. Blue is the leading color in the design of the living room. Radiators, objects and even window openings, like paintings enclosed in a kind of MDF frame, are all designed in this color. Sofa, floor lamp, coffee table, BoConcept. On the wall is an installation made of metal by Roma Bantika.

«As a result of the redevelopment, we «moved away» from the illogical curved walls typical of the repairs of the 90s, and the wall separating the living room from the corridor,» explains Rustem. — Due to the corridor, the bathroom area was increased, and the guest bedroom was completely abandoned and dismantled in favor of the kitchen. The planning structure turned out to be logical and convenient for two people to live in.»

Entering the apartment, you can immediately see the entire public area, which is separated from the hallway by a glass partition. Most of the volume is occupied by the open space of the living room-kitchen, where there is a sofa area, a large bar island and a dining table.

The bedroom occupies a slightly smaller area, and it contains only the most necessary items: a bed with bedside tables and a chest of drawers. The designer moved all the cabinets to the dressing room and corridor. At the same time, thanks to the color-blocking technique, they do not clutter up the space, merging into the overall gray color of the corridor. The bathroom has become much freer, which made it possible to accommodate all the necessary functions.

«A certain difficulty arose with the lifting of the bar countertop weighing 250 kg to the 9th floor. She did not get into the elevator in size, the poet had to be lifted manually up the stairs, which was also small. As a result, with certain losses and not without difficulty, the table top was lifted,» the author of the project smiles.

The main artistic design technique in this laconic interior is color. Visually, the space is divided into color blocks. Shades of turquoise and rich blue are chosen as accents. «The color spots are placed in the interior not randomly, but in accordance with the functional load. For example, white color is chosen for the kitchen, gray for the corridor, blue for the functional areas in the bedroom and bathroom,» Rustem explains.

The set of finishing materials is minimal. On the floor: a whitewashed engineering board and a self-leveling floor made of epoxy resin (it was necessary to create solid color blocks). The walls in the rooms are painted with paint, in the bathroom — tiled.

Bedroom. Bed, bedside tables, BoConcept. There is an installation on the wall, a small bow.

To create a «clean interior», not overloaded with details, the designer used built-in LED profiles. Individual zones were accentuated with the help of minimalist lamps. For example, the dining room is decorated with a designer lamp factory Vibia.

Bathroom. The walls are finished with Italon, Vitra tiles. The bathtub made of artificial stone is made to order. Mixer, Paffoni. Table, BoConcept.

Chrome is used as decoration and accessories. «This is partly a forced decision, since we were faced with the task of organically fitting the furniture available to the owners with chrome elements,» explains the author of the project. «A logical and interesting continuation of this theme is the work of the Russian artist Roma Bantik, who himself calls his canvases visual poetry.»
