We learned firsthand how designers and architects relate to Russian production and where to look for professional contractors.

Russian furniture in expensive interiors is by no means uncommon. Designers and architects are unanimous: our production makes it possible to implement non-standard ideas, and it is most convenient to manufacture many items in Russia. The main thing is to enter the «same» production, however, and this is not a problem if you know where to look.

«There are quite a lot of Russian furniture in my projects. I believe that if you carefully choose a manufacturer, you get a high-quality product for reasonable money, which is important for such a costly project as apartment or house repairs.

As for finding the right furniture, the easiest way is to search for it on the Internet on interior marketplaces. If you have a picture of the interior, you can use the image search function (you will be amazed at how many analogues the search engine will offer) or contact furniture manufacturers and make an item to order.

And here the choice of a contractor is very important. In order not to make a mistake, first I collect the opinions of colleagues and acquaintances. You can also ask for advice in a chat at home or in your neighborhood. Then I look for reviews: social networks will help you here. And the next stage is a trip to the office and, ideally, to production.

Also, read the terms of the contract very carefully, pay attention to which days are spelled out in it — working or calendar days: otherwise there is a chance that you will not receive your order by the desired date. And don’t forget to check the dimensions of the furniture when buying, so that it exactly fits into the intended place.»

«While working on a project, I create a certain image, an embodied idea. Every piece of furniture in my interiors is a tool for creating a common art space — like paint strokes from an artist. Therefore, almost everything I do to order in Russia is very convenient.

It is much faster and more convenient to draw the desired object in accordance with the concept and create it according to the technical task (shape, dimensions, textures, textures) than to search for the right object of the right size and the right color. Of course, it is very important to be sure that the manufacturer has good equipment that will ensure the quality of the items.

During the preparation of the project, I compose compositions of finishing materials and check them for compatibility on the desktop in daylight. That is, each article in the terms of reference is tested for tactility, as well as how it will look and match with other items in color and texture.

It is very important here that the artistically experienced masters of the manufacturer, their ability to see the color and get into the right shades, change the texture and texture of materials in accordance with the wishes of the customer, their attention to the verified proportions, lines and artistic impression of objects.»

In general, it is most convenient to make upholstered furniture of non-standard shapes in Russia: it is faster, and the end result will exactly coincide with what was conceived.

Of course, Russian production also has disadvantages: for example, our manufacturer devotes a lot of time and labor to appearance and design, but new technologies, as a rule, are taken into account by the residual principle. Russian manufacturers rarely come up with their own — they rely more on the designers’ project, but some improvements are not excluded here either. However, the most important thing for the designer is that the manufacturer brings the project to the end.»

«I usually use the Internet to search for Russian manufacturers, as showrooms are often located not in professional shopping centers, but in separate sites. Basically, the Russian manufacturer makes furniture to order and does not keep large stocks, so it is very important to clarify all the nuances before signing the contract, as well as to see a sample.

I consider the built-in furniture to be the most popular of the Russian furniture: it is possible to quickly replace one or another part in case of an error in production. I quite often use Russian furniture brands in my projects and, according to my clients, it is often not inferior in quality characteristics to foreign ones.»
