Originally from childhood: a nostalgic garden on a plot in Tarusa Design Ideas 05.06.2022 The image of the garden is inspired by the memories of the customer who grew up in these places. The customer grew up in picturesque places on the Oka. Now his children will grow up here. The house itself, the plot — everything is covered with memories. The house was stylized as an old dacha, and the garden was also supposed to support a nostalgic flair. The boundaries of the garden are dissolved in the natural environment due to the planting of plants characteristic of this area. Mountain pines create low evergreen volumes. The site has a difficult terrain: it is located on the bank of a river with a sharp drop in elevation. In order to beat the view opportunities that this gives, the designers of the Mokh landscape bureau arranged a large open green terrace in front of the house, where children like to frolic. From here a wonderful prospect of river distances opens up. In the foreground — spectacular chard leaves. The house stands in the center of the plot. Above — a vegetable garden and a sauna, below — a barbecue area. The movement in the garden is set by a paved path that wraps around, as if embracing the plot. A gentle path made of polished brick runs through the entire garden. Thematically, the garden is divided into two zones: the upper one, adjacent to the house, and the lower one, facing the river. The first one is decorated with mixborders with «country» plants — a bright flower garden and meadow grasses. The second, along the coastline, is the kingdom of the forest: mountain pines and perennials are planted here. Next to the mountain pines, the sod pike, echinacea and mordovica are planted. A children’s playhouse is hidden in the depths of the garden. A bright flower garden in the foreground is a brilliant rudbeckia. It seems that this is a natural landscape, that the forest has always grown here, but no: by the time the construction was completed, there was bare ground. The «Forest» is completely created by designers. The upper garden smoothly turns into the lower one, and the whole composition echoes the flood meadows across the river. This technique is called an augmented view and came from the English landscape architecture of the XVIII century. A playhouse like hobbits is a dream come true for the customer’s children.
