«I’m not afraid of dark colors, bright accents, I’m ready for something eccentric. Monochrome of beige, sandy, calm tones — it’s not really about me.» These words of the hostess inspired Anastasia Kashirskaya and Anna Buzik from the design studio «Sol» to create an interior in which the main role is assigned to color.

The apartment is located in the residential complex «Krasny Prospekt» in Novosibirsk. The hostess is a young girl with a wide range of interests and hobbies. She works in the field of sales of finishing materials, travels a lot in Europe, loves modern art, good movies, has a large library of books and is not indifferent to everything English. After talking with the customer, the designers realized: «Super! You can design a complex, bold interior and «come off in full».

The living room is divided into two zones: an area with a sofa and a fireplace and a kitchen-dining room. The walls in the kitchen (where there is direct contact with moisture and splashes) were painted with Duration resistant paint from the brand Sherwin Williams.

The lighting uses Novotech ceiling track lamps in black, which are divided into two lighting groups. One group illuminates the kitchen area, the other the living room area. The hostess did not want a traditional TV zone, so the designers disguised the home theater system. When the screen is hidden in the ceiling, a beautiful picture of the fireplace opens to the eye. Based on her wishes, the designers created a bright eclectic interior with a mix of serious and ironic. At first glance, references to England are immediately noticeable: brickwork, dense saturated colors (green, red, blue), plaster moldings, vegetable and animalistic ornaments. All this is adjacent to modern, sometimes even loft items of simple and understandable forms. At the entrance to the apartment, guests are greeted by a classical library with a modern version of the «hound of the Baskervilles» on the wall. And it immediately becomes clear — this interior will not be boring.

Work on the project began with the selection of real estate, designers helped the customer to choose an apartment with a good layout that suited her tasks. Therefore, the final redevelopment was insignificant. To organize a pass-through library in the corridor between the kitchen-living room and the corridor, a wall was moved. In turn, the hallway area was separated for convenient placement of the closet. A spacious dressing room appeared in the bedroom — the dream of the customer.

Hallway. On the walls — Duration paint from Sherwin Williams, it is perfect for walk-through rooms, and it can be easily washed. In the corridor there is a library with open and closed storage systems for books from the large collection of the hostess. The ceiling is decorated in the manner of a coffered ceiling, which visually divides the corridor into two parts: one leads to the living room, the second to the private part of the apartment. While the hostess lives alone. Nevertheless, the designers have thought out the planning solution «for growth» — for the life of a married couple with a child. Now one living room serves as a gym, and in the future it can be converted into a nursery.

Gym room. Cabinets are installed in the room, taking into account the fact that in the future the room can become a nursery and a baby bed will stand between the beautiful cabinets with a mezzanine. On the wall opposite the mirror is a reproduction of Alexey Lantsev from the customer’s collection.

A comfortable living-dining room with a seating area for watching movies easily accommodates a company of 5-7 people. The small but functional kitchen is equipped with everything you need: a dishwasher, an oven, a hob, an extractor hood and a refrigerator.

Bedroom. On the floor, as in the whole apartment, parquet. The walls are painted with Emerald paint from the brand Sherwin Williams. Behind the headboard of the bed — Eco factory wallpaper. The main lighting is allocated to a hanging lamp with a fabric velvet shade, made according to the sketches of the authors of the project. The role of evening light is performed by hanging Helmet sconces from Aromas del Campo near the bed. The bed is made by the company Vankov according to the sketches of designers. Bathroom. The floor and walls are finished with seamless granite for concrete. The Euipe Graphite tile decorated with a stencil inscription was used in the sink area.

The main color palette of the interior is a mix of dense local colors (red, green, blue), which are characteristic of classic English interiors, combined with neutral shades such as gray, powdery pink, beige and cream. «Bright colors occupy a large volume in the living area,» adds Anastasia Kashirskaya. — They are slightly diluted with neutral shades. In the living rooms, everything is exactly the opposite: due to the light shades, there is more air and semitones.»

Bathroom. The lower part of the walls is finished with Equipe tiles (Artisan collection, color Colonial Blue) and partially painted. The upper part of the walls is Scion wallpaper (England) from the Zanzibar collection. To protect against splashes and moisture, the wallpaper is covered with a protective transparent varnish.
