Architects from the bureau Yudin&Novikov designed an apartment with panoramic views of the city center, the atmosphere in which is created by premium Italian furniture factories, luxurious natural materials and paintings by contemporary artists.

Area: 442 sq. m

The apartment is located in the residential complex «Mont Blanc» on the top floor. The owners — a family with two children — turned to the bureau Yudin & Novikov with the desire to create a status, respectable interior to match the level of the object and the lifestyle of customers.

The holistic perception of the interior was influenced by carefully selected art. In the living room, the central place is occupied by the «Portrait of a mythical hero» by Gleb Bogomolov. Floor vases, decor, Sigma l2.

The starting points of the design concept were natural light and panoramic views of the historical center of St. Petersburg, opening from all rooms of the penthouse. The airy and elegant space of the kitchen-living room is replaced by the dark noble decoration of the study and the refined lines of the master bedroom. An important place in the interior is occupied by art — the works of Gleb Bogomolov, Kirill Chelushkin, Andrey Rudyev, Peter Shvetsov — acting as the final chords in the design.

The free space without partitions allowed the architects to create a planning solution that fully meets the family’s request. The center of attraction is a spacious open space area, which includes a relaxation area, a large dining room, a functional kitchen and a breakfast place. One of the wishes of the customers was to fit a large marine aquarium into the space, which later became an important accent of the living room.

Kitchen-dining area. «Due to the small height of the ceilings (2.7 m), there were difficulties with ventilation,» notes Alexander Krivonosov. — A large square footage of the living room (140 sq. m.), sunny side and panoramic glazing require competent air conditioning of the space. In order not to lose the height of the room, all communications are laid in the kitchen area, which visually becomes the center of the living room, creating a solid architectural volume.»

Priority in finishing is given to high—quality and sound natural materials — stone, solid wood parquet, wall panels with alcantara and veneer finishes, silk wallpaper, metal and glass. «The choice of materials is determined by the level of the object and the wishes of customers,» notes Konstantin Novikov, one of the authors of the project. «A single finish flows smoothly from one room to the next, forming a holistic image and combining all the spaces into a single whole.»

The hall and the living room welcome guests with a single monochrome scale, designed in predominantly warm colors. The accents are dotted: in the form of art objects, furniture upholstery and decor. «The main character is the view of the city and the air that fills this space,» Konstantin Novikov comments on the interior palette. — Through the living room we get into the study, which is more intimate in its function, so the light color scheme is replaced by a dark noble ebony finish in combination with bright upholstery of armchairs. The bedroom is made in a noble gray-smoky scale and complemented with wine tones of armchairs and lamps. Brass metal inserts in panels and furniture elements enliven the interior.»

As an emotional lighting, built-in LED lights in the ends of the supporting columns are thought out, the illumination of the aquarium adds atmosphere to the space in the evening.

By nature, this is a modern respectable interior, thought out to the smallest detail, which is difficult to define within the framework of any style. The architects sought to create a space relevant for many years, corresponding to the quality of life of its owners, tried not to blindly follow fashion trends, but to correctly prioritize.

The main focus of the cabinet was a panel made of semi-precious Petrified Wood stone. The panel is a panel of cross-sections of thin trunks of a petrified tree, which are about three million years old. Armchairs, Giorgetti. Ceiling lights, Apparatus.

The premium level of the facility is also emphasized by the setting. The pieces of furniture are chosen mainly by Italian brands with elegant design, made of high-quality materials: Minotti, Giorgetti, Poliform, Longhi, Molteni, B&B Italia, etc. Branded items complement the joinery made to order according to the sketches of the bureau.

The bedroom and bathroom are a single space separated by a sliding glass partition from Rimadesio.

The interior looks multi-layered, complex and saturated due to expressive furniture, art objects of characteristic decoration, in which various textures and textures are combined (stone, wood, metal, glass, smooth leather, soft nubuck, textured fabrics). That is why the authors of the project limited themselves to a minimum amount of decor.

Due to the glass partition, it was possible to visually increase the bathroom space and provide it with natural light.

Basically, these are vases and sculptures from Sigma l2. For example, a floor vase in the recreation area of the living room, metal sculptures in the shape of fish in niches near the aquarium or in the study, where niches are provided in shelves for floor vases. Textiles are selected mainly in the color of the walls and furniture finishes in order to visually «dissolve» it in space, not overload and add comfort to the interior.
