The new collections of designer textiles include flowers and geometry, shades of the sea, grass and sand, textured surfaces. The main design message is optimism.

1. Carpets: unusual shapes

It is the unusual «perimeter» of the carpet: it can resemble a leaf or a flower, and sometimes support the 3D effect of the pattern.

But this is not enough: in one of the latest collections, a carpet with a hole in the plane appeared. This approach is an innovation.

2. Fabrics: flowers

The flowers are large, even exaggeratedly large. We can examine their petals in detail and feel their fragrance. Another type of fashionable floral ornament is flowers collected in clear compositions, in the sense of an ornament of this type already borders on another — geometric. We see geometry in the shape and arrangement of colors.

3. Marine life

Also a fashionable theme of the season. And these corals on textiles seem to be striving to become geometric.

4. Geometry

A stripe, a cage, small polka dots and speckles, as well as patterns in the spirit of Moroccan majolica — all this enriches our life and the life of our interiors (as well as gardens, verandas and patios, because there are many such fabrics with outdoor function) in the new season.

5. Imitation of natural textures

Fashionable fabrics, as well as carpets imitate natural textures, and especially natural stone: marble, sandstone, slate. In the first roles — marble. This year, monsters of the interior sphere, such as Moroso, also paid tribute to the trend.

6. Author’s textiles

There are names and author styles that have their fans all over the world: William Morris, Donatella Versace, Paolo Fornasetti. And the century does not matter here, the author’s handwriting is important. And fans of such a design will not be disappointed: in new things, the author’s handwriting is recognizable, interesting, reveals new facets of talent.

7. Plain fabrics

For some reason, the theme of plain fabrics is considered boring — they are sometimes perceived only as companions for fabrics with ornaments. However, this is a full-fledged interior theme, because many people decorate their homes only with plain textiles.

Today, designers are working hard on the tactile appeal of such fabrics, as well as developing unique palettes. In the most recent — and shades of the sea and sand, and the much-loved «nude» (flesh, powder), and juicy green, and gray-blue, and terracotta.
